What do I if I wasn't here?
Get handouts from absent work bin and ask your partner. If you need more help, wait until Ms. Boyd is not teaching to ask.
What are things I need for every LA class?
A pencil, my LA binder, and my personal reading book.
Where can you find out what we are doing everyday?
The classroom screen.
What is soft start?
Soft start is doing an independant silent activity at the start of class, until morning meeting.
What happens the second time I chose to break a classroom expectation?
You lose a privilege such as recess.
What should I do if I'm getting frustrated/overwhelmed?
Ask for a break.
What is the only acceptable way to hand in digital assignments?
Turn in in Google Classroom!
What do I do with a book I borrow (for one period) from the classroom library?
Put it back where you got it.
What is a reflection sheet?
A reflection sheet is a way to reflect on choices made and how to avoid them going forward.
What happens if multiple students are not meeting classroom expectations, such as lining up quietly?
We will practice it until we can do it properly.
What can I do if i'm confused and don't understand?
Ask a partner, or ask the teacher. Make sure you tell me exactly what you are confused about.
Where I can find extra handouts/missed work?
The (grade color) file box labelled extra handouts/absent work.
Where do my binder, handouts, etc, go after class is over?
They leave with you!
What does explicit instruction mean, and what is one thing you should not do in this time?
It is when Ms. Boyd is directly teaching us. Some things we should not do in this time are: Get up to throw something out, talk (unless answering a question), ask to go to the bathroom or leave the room, shout out, put your head down and sleep and sharpen a pencil.
What happens if I make a mess or am part of a group that makes a mess?
You have to clean it up. Even if you are just guilty by association.
Where can I see what assignments I'm missing?
Powerschool and google classroom.
Where can I find my reading duotang and extra book trailer/first chapter sheets?
In the colour coded plastic magazine bins.
What should I do if I come late to class? Bonus: What should others do when someone comes to class late?
Come in quietly. If Ms. Boyd is teaching, wait to ask her for help, or QUIETLY ask your partner what we are doing.
Bonus: Nothing. Ignore them. I have eyes. I too can see they came in.
What are the in use buttons for?
To show someone is in the bathroom.
What happens if you are caught purposefully vandalizing school property?
You will get a write up and have to work to make it right.
Where does Ms.Boyd put handbacks, missed work (sometimes), etc?
Mailboxes. Check and Empty your mailbox!
