Entering Class & Attendance
This is the first place you should look when entering our classroom.
What is the Do Now Basket?
This online platform should be checked for assignments and instructions after an absence.
What is Canvas?
Students may borrow items from this without asking for permission.
What is the student supply station?
This may need to be worn during a lab activity.
What is PPE (goggles, gloves, aprons, etc.)?
This is how students should signal they have a question.
What is raising your hand?
To be on time, you must be in this location when the bell rings (be specific)
What is your assigned seat?
The first place in the classroom to check for missed work after being absent.
What is the Make-Up Work Box?
Personal electronic devices belong here during class.
What is in your backpack/ teacher designated area?
If a spill occurs during a lab, this should happen first.
What is alert the teacher immediately?
A student may leave their seat to get these.
What are classroom supplies?
A student is sitting in class but texting instead of working on the Do Now. They may be marked as this.
What is tardy?
Before asking Ms. Hazekamp for help with missing work, students should ask this many classmates.
What is two classmates?
Students should only use laptops when they receive these.
What are teacher instructions?
During a fire drill, students should quietly exit the room and walk in this direction to go to the appropriate stairwell.
What is left?
Students should wait until this amount of time has passed before requesting a restroom break.
What are the first 10 minutes of class?
You arrive late. After entering quietly, picking up materials, and beginning work, this should wait until the teacher finishes giving directions.
What is turning in your tardy pass?
This is the preferred way to contact Ms. Hazekamp when absent and you have questions.
What is Canvas messaging/Canvas Inbox?
At the end of class, laptops should be returned to this location (be specific).
What is the correct charging slot (in the laptop cart)?
During a lockdown, students should do this after moving to the designated safe area.
What is remain silent?
Before leaving for the restroom, students must obtain these two things.
What is teacher permission and a digital pass?
The three requirements for being marked present and on time in Ms. H's class.
What are being in the classroom, being in your assigned seat, and working on the Do Now?
After a week-long absence, a student should do these two things first before saying, "I don't know what I missed."
What is check the make-up work box and Canvas?
Using your assigned laptop to play games while Ms. H is teaching is considered this type of behavior.
What is not acceptable/inappropriate behavior?
This is, perhaps, the most foundational aspect of lab safety.
What is following directions?
A classmate says, "That's a dumb answer." This classroom expectation is being violated.
