Sign out for bathrooms

This year sign out is a little different. Use the ipad by the door to sign out and tap the light (no pass to bring), so that others know whether or not they can leave.

100

When there is an emergency

Interrupt me! Emergencies include: fire, nurse, not feeling well, private matter, etc.
100

This is something you will want to know before you pack up to leave

What the homework is, which will be written in your planner

Class begins when...

The bell rings. Please note that sometimes I will have a do now on the board. ELA is expected to silently read until I begin

Remember my homework

You have a planner that will become your BFF- know and love it! Homework will always be written on the board or on our slides for you to copy down into your planner. Homework is also posted on google classroom and due dates can even be seen on your google calendar.

200

When you have a question

Do not interrupt. There are times I ask if there are questions, but most of the time I may answer your question during my directions! If I do not, check your written directions and ask a neighbor. If you still need an answer wait until I have finished to ask me!

You should have this with you

Know what we're learning and remember all of it?

There will always be a learning goal with outcomes to meet (ex: I can summarize a text). There is an agenda posted each day so that you know exactly HOW you are going to meet those goals.

As for remembering- in ELA you will have a roadmap and binder to keep most important information organized!

In academic lab, you will have an ac lab folder with your important resources and info

300

When you have to go to the bathroom

Do not interrupt! The passes are light up, so you can tell if it is available. As a general rule, the first and last 5 minutes of class are best, but if you must during class- do not leave during new instruction time

300

You should not have this with you

Any classroom materials or ac lab folder

check out/return a book

Use the app on ipad to check out the title. Then when you return, click the return button. iPad stays on bookshelf!!

400

When you need a break or check in alone or with me/another adult

No need to interrupt! Most times we have a non-verbal cue (which means you tell me without using words- like a pass) to go take a break. If you think you may need something like this, talk to me today!

400
Class ends when...

I dismiss you! I am not perfect (what?!) so sometimes I have something IMPORTANT to tell you even after the bell rings. Be patient and if it's really late, I will write you a pass to your next class or call your teacher to let them know you'll be late. No hurry or worry!

500

The first instruction you will receive will be where?

The front board/ first slide

500

Work I missed when I was absent

The "while you were out" folder

500

Catch up on work if I am absent or late

If you are absent for my class, online or in person, you still will have the lesson to learn and the work to make up. When you are in school next, make a time to see me. When we meet, we can come up with a timeline that will work for both of us. Always check the "while you were out" folder!

500

When you do not know where something is or if you are allowed to touch it

Do not interrupt, but ask a neighbor. If you're really unsure and so is your neighbor, just wait until I have finished talking to ask me. I'm happy to help!

500

You should exit the room

the same way you came in- indoor voice, calm, aware of your surroundings.
