Shirts

  • Shirts must be a solid BLACK crew neck t-shirt or polo shirt. 

  • Long sleeve and short sleeve are both permitted. 

  • No logos, emblems or V-necks. 

  • Undershirts may not show through beneath the crew neck t-shirt. 

  • The student’s shirt will be tucked in at all times.

  • Students may wear a solid color sweatshirt.  Sweatshirt should will have no logos or other graphics.  No hoods, hoodies or pockets.
  • In colder weather, students are expected to wear a coat or jacket appropriate for the weather.  Coat/Jackets must have empty pockets.  Coats/Jackets should not be worn during class.

Getting the teacher’s attention

If a student needs to speak, the student should raise their hand but not call out with their voice.

Pants

  • Students must wear straight leg khaki pants. 

  • Khaki pants are required for all DAEP students. 

  • Pants shall not be baggy, excessively loose, or skinny. 

  • Pants may not be “fashion damaged”. 

  • Holes, tears and rips are not permitted. 

  • Rhinestones, embroidery, and/or patches are not permitted.  

  • The cuffs may not be rolled in any way.  

  • Pants must be worn around the waist.  

  • Sagging and low rise jeans are not permitted.

General Expectation- Medal Detector

Students are required to walk through a metal detector every morning. 

  • If the student is unable to clear the metal detector without notification, then a staff member will use a metal detector wand. 

  • If the student is unable or unwilling to be cleared with either metal detecting device, a parent will be notified and must pick up the student. 

  • Warrantless searches: Please note that anything brought by the student from home to DAEP campus is subject to warrantless searches.

Eating and Drinking

Aside from water, there is no eating or drinking in the classroom, other than during Breakfast and Lunch.

  • Students must wear tennis shoes. 

  • Shoes must be of neutral colors. 

  • Boots, open toed, shoes and high-tops are not permitted.

Daily Expectations

● Students will practice appropriate social skills at all times (Please, Thank You, Yes, No, Yes Sir, No Sir, Yes Ma’am, No Ma’am). 

● Remain on task and stay focused on goals throughout the day. 

● Students will complete daily assignments as deemed acceptable by teacher. 

● A student must raise their hand and wait in an appropriate manner until their request is received and considered. 

● Students are expected to keep work area organized and neat. 

● Be respectful to all staff members, other students, and visitors and/or guests (persons, property, space, etc.) at all times.

Movement During Class

Do not leave seat without permission (raise your hand to get permission).

Level by Behavior

  • Must earn 3 out of 4 checks a day to count the day.  

  • If a day is not earned, the level will be moved down.

    • Example: If on Level 3, and day is not earned, student will be moved to level 2 the following day.  Level 2 to level 1. 

  • When a student is moved to a lower level, they will have to earn the next level again by serving 5 days on that level.  

    • Example: If on level 2, and moved to level 1, the student will lose all privileges until 5 days are earned to move back to level 2.

Accessories

JEWELRY- No jewelry of any kind is permitted.  This includes body piercings.  

FINGERNAILS- Artificial Nails are not permitted. All students must keep their fingernails short and clean. 

TATTOOS- Tattoos must be covered in their entirety. Temporary tattoos, pen/marker markings, etc. are not permitted. 

MAKE-UP- Make up must be of modest and natural colors. Thick and/or distracting colors, lines or designs are not permitted. 

MISC. - Hats, caps, toboggans, scarves and/or hoods are not permitted. Backpacks, bags or like articles are not permitted. Do NOT bring them.
