What do you do when you want to talk in class?
By raising you hand quietly until you are picked.
What do you do when you first come in every day?
Put things in locker, check morning slide and do what it says.
How do we line up for recess, specials, lunch, and restroom breaks? How do we walk in the hall?
Wait to be called, walk quietly to line. Face forward, no talking. T-rex to zombie arms distance. Straight line. Hands to self.
We will have a new line order for all line ups besides 'quietest and cleanest first' times. Including Monday mornings in the gym. (Including specials, unless specials teacher tells you to line up a certain way.)
Consequences for being out of line order (or being reminded to get in line order.) It's your responsibility to know where your spot is.
What do you do if you have a question when the teacher is at small group/round table?
Don't interrupt unless it is not something you can not ask someone else. If you can ask someone else, ask 3 before me! Ask 3 friends for help before asking the teacher.
What belongs on your desk?
A pencil and whatever curriculum or supplies we are currently using for instruction.
Water bottles (with a fully closing lid) stay on the floor unless you are actively getting a drink.
What voice level is individual work time?
Level 0-1.
How do you earn golden tickets?
By going above and beyond expectations.
What do you do if you finish your work early?
Choice board. (No visiting.)
When can I eat or drink in class?
During all group snack time, or parties. Only water allowed (unless given by the teacher.) Candy treats (for example from WIN teacher) may be eaten in class as long as you throw your trash away and don't distract others.
How do you actively listen?
Listen with your: eyes, ears, head, heart, hands, feet.
How do students respect self, other students' and teacher's things?
Self--taking care of supplies and keeping area clean. Other students': By not touching them or destroying them. Teacher's: Taking care of classroom supplies, not touching teacher's desk, not going in teacher area.
When can I not use my bathroom pass?
When the teacher is talking, during DEAR, during small groups, during tests.
When is a good time to complete unfinished work from the day before?
Before school and show Ms. Jackson your score.
How do we act at small group time?
You work, not visit. You are on assignments given, if you are not at small group table--working the whole time.
If you are submitting late computer work, what should you do to get credit for it?
Show Ms. Jackson your score.
How do you know what to-do in the morning?
Look at the morning slide
When can I not sharpen my pencil?
During instruction when the teacher is talking.
Where can you turn in your work?
Worksheets or paper to the correct subject tray--make sure your name is on paper.
Workbooks to table.
Special assignments to Ms. Jackson.
Computer work--hit 'submit' when needed!
When and why can you get out of your seat during class?
During individual work time to get a needed supply or put something away.
How can you be a kind friend at recess?
Taking turns, hands and feet to self, using nice words, including others in your games, etc.
How can you respect others?
By listening to them, taking turns sharing, using nice words, and safe bodies.
How do we line up to leave and enter the room?
Wait until you are called, push in your chair, and walk to line without talking.
In: go to locker if needed. Sit in seat. No talking.
How do we earn points towards free time Friday?
By following expectations.
When are the only 3 times you should go to your locker without specific directions to: "go to your locker"?
Before school. Before lunch. After lunch.
If you think you might need your jacket, for example, leave it on the back of your chair.
How do we treat visitors?
Let door person answer the door.
Clap until visitor acknowledges the clapping and/or stop when Ms. Jackson says.
Stay seated.
