List out all the steps for loaning/charging an item
- Ask for the patron's UBC card (either physical or digital)
- Check if patron has signed the necessary lending agreement form (if not, ask patron to sign)
- Ensure all pieces of equipment are present and that the barcode matches the bag
- Scan the barcode and inform the patron when the due date is and how to renew (if item can be renewed)
List out all the steps for discharging an item
- Inspect the equipment and ensure that ALL parts of the item are there
- Check for any damages; if there are do not check it in Voyage and inform staff
- If the patron has a fine, inform them how much the fines are
- Place the item back in the corresponding bag/container and return item to equipment cabinet
- Ghost the item if needed
What is a "bad discharge" and what information does staff need when it happens and the patron complains?
When a CLCA goes to charge an item and realizes it was never discharged
Info needed: patron's name and barcode, what the item is (e.g. laptop) and the barcode, the time they say they returned the item
