Every SOAP note should include this about programs that were run during a session
What is the Learners response to treatment?
A setting event that changes a client's motivation for potential reinforcers.
What is an MO?
Even during an earned NET break, no more than this amount of time should pass between teaching trials.
What is two minutes?
The therapist presents two to three distractor trials using known skills and provides mild or low reinforcement, such as verbal praise.
What is Error-Correction Step 2?
After a target behavior ends, the technician should record the behavior data within this amount of time.
What is within 30 seconds?
Reviewing the learner's previous program data, setting up the therapy environment, reading the most recent learner updates & asking LBA questions about the learner's treatment.
What is the Session Prep?
During each hour of therapy, the technician should conduct a preference or reinforcer assessment and identify at least this many effective reinforcers.
What are three effective reinforcers?
Unless a program requires different positioning, the learner should remain within this distance of the therapist during NET.
What is within arm’s length?
Following an error, the therapist re-presents the SD with the most effective prompt so the learner immediately practices the correct response.
What is Error-Correction Step 1?
Staff should enter skill-acquisition data after no more than this many trials rather than waiting and entering a large batch later.
What are three to five trials?
S — Status/setting events: How is the learner doing right now?
T — Toileting: Bathroom use, accidents, clothing changes
A — Activities/Events: Food, naps, injuries, incidents, notable events
T — Things Needed: Clothing, supplies, items to bring
E — Encouragement: Positive progress or successes
What is a Caregiver Handoffs?
What is the highest preferred reinforcer used for?
Arranging the environment or creatively using toys, materials, and activities to create a reason for the learner to communicate or practice a skill is called doing this.
What is contriving a naturalistic teaching opportunity?
Before returning to a target that requires errorless learning, the therapist first presents several easier, high-probability responses.
What is Error-Correction Step 4, using behavior momentum?
An ABC note states, “He became angry because he did not want to work.” The technician should replace this interpretation with this type of language describing only what was directly observed
What is objective and observable language?
This is the recommended strategy for documentation so that you do not have to rely on memory or spend excessive time at the end of the session.
What is "write as you go"?
In this preference-assessment format, the learner is presented with two options at a time and selects between them.
What is a paired-stimulus or forced-choice preference assessment?
Using a naturally occurring event during play or a daily routine to teach a related target is called this.
What is incidental teaching or incidental learning?
The therapist re-presents the original SD without a prompt. A correct response receives moderate praise; another error is followed by the most effective prompt, mild reinforcement, and ending the trial.
What is Error-Correction Step 3?
Preventive strategies used before behavior, staff responses used after behavior, and procedures for helping the learner become ready to return to instruction are these three parts of the BIP.
What are the antecedent, consequence, and recovery protocols?
Describing what you saw rather than interpreting why it happened.
What being objective?
A therapist gives a learner unrestricted access to a highly preferred tablet before placing a demand. This violates the expectation that reinforcers remain under therapist control and are strictly earned by behavior.
What is contingent access?
During peer play, a therapist sits across the room entering data and does not interact with the learner for four minutes. To meet the NET expectations, the therapist should do these things instead.
What are directly engaging with the learner, facilitating peer play, continuing to run appropriate targets, and keeping teaching opportunities no more than two minutes apart?
The therapist presents the SD with a two- to three-second prompt delay. An independent correct response receives high reinforcement; if a prompt is required, the therapist runs a known skill and ends with mild reinforcement.
What is Error-Correction Step 5?
To meet the overlap IOA standard, the technician must complete at least this many scored opportunities and obtain this percentage or higher.
What are at least five opportunities and 80% IOA or higher?
