There are so many great food places nearby to order from! (Pizza, burgers, salads, sandwiches, Chipotle, Japanese foods, Italian, Mexican/Latin American, Indian), If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, there are many places you can find! (Vegetarian, Vegan, Halal, Gluten Free, etc.)

This meal is provided as part of our hotel stay.  You will wake up on Saturday and join us for this meal before continuing on with our tours!

What is Breakfast?

*Hot & cold food offerings will be available.

Breakfast is served as early as 7:00am, so students will need to be up, dressed & packed before coming down for breakfast.

This location in Washington DC is made up of several Museums all focused on different collections of Art, Artifacts, and American/World History.

What is the Smithsonian?

In the past, we have visited the American Museum of Natural History & the American history Museum.

What is 1 small Suitcase or Duffle Bag & your backpack?

*You only need enough items for one overnight trip. Bring a small bag as we need to fit everyone's luggage plus food on the buses.  Only bring what you absolutely need! You will be given a packing list of items too.

Do We have to stay in our hotel the entire time?

What is No.

Students have asked to go visit nearby locations for food or sight seeing. You must be with a group of students & at least 1 mentor when leaving the hotel at all times. We should know where groups are going as well (you can contact Ms. Zampella with your plans of where you are going).

This time is the "Curfew" of when you are required to be in your room on Saturday night.

What is 10:00pm?

*Everyone is required to report to their assigned room by this time. You will be checked in by your Mentor at that time.  Everyone will be Taped into their rooms at night, meaning you will NOT be permitted to leave your room after 10:00pm.

Lights out by 11:00pm for bedtime

These foods will be provided by the school to have as lunch while on the bus to DC and on our way home.

What are sandwiches.

*Sandwich meals including water, fruits, veggies, cereals, crackers, etc. Lunch will be provided for Free & Reduced Lunch Students ONLY! Everyone else should plan on bringing their own lunches for the trip.

(*You can order food on Saturday/Sunday for when we come home on Sunday too)

One thing that you will see all over DC when out walking the National Mall, or outside all the Museums are these themed trucks...they are quite popular!

What are Food Trucks?

*If time, we'll stop at the different food trucks for a snack while we're out and about.

Some trucks take card, others cash. You can find foods & drinks for any taste! (Bubble Tea & ice cream was a popular choice by our group last year!)

*Students can dress down when we are in the hotel & walking around DC

*For the formal Tours/White House Tours, you will be dressed in business attire.

*We will be leaving right after checkout from the hotel in DC, approx. 12:00 - 12:30

*You are to clean your rooms/pack up your belongings and report to breakfast on time for Sunday morning.

How will I get dinner while in Washington DC?

What is order out food?

*Students may UberEats, DoorDash, etc. foods to the hotel for Dinner.  There any many places nearby they can purchase foods they know they will eat. The hotel also has a  marketplace to purchase drinks & snacks.

This location in Washington DC is in walking distance fro our Hotel.  On one end, you'll find the Capitol Building, in the middle - the Washington Monument - and the other end is the Lincoln Memorial

What is the National Mall?

*This long walkway is so beautiful, it's a giant park with walking trials and Monuments & Memorials placed throughout.  It's a great place for taking pictures!

How will Room Assignments be determined for the students?

*Permission Slips are due by February 20th (including payment for the trip).

*Once we have determined which students are attending the trip, students will be able to pick their roommates for the night in DC. (Early March)

Will there be any stops made while traveling to and From DC?

No.

We will not be making any stops on the way to and from DC. Students should have everything they need with them on the bus, including food & drinks. (lunch as well). Use the restroom before we leave!

If you should break any School Rules/Expectations on this trip, who is responsible for picking you up in Washington DC?

Who are your Parents?

*For anyone who leaves their room after 10:00pm, or breaks any school/CMP expectations while on our trip, your parents are required to come to DC and pick you up. There will be no exceptions for any horseplay or breaking of rules while on this trip.  You are representing yourselves and our school on this trip.
