The Marshall Plan was a strategy implemented by the US to revitalize Europe by giving countries aid that were destroyed during WWII. It also showed the power of Capitalism by being able to afford such a program without a plan to be repaid. The Marshall Plan was an investment deal for the US because it revitalized capitalist markets in Europe and allowed our economy to grow stronger.

Describe the Proxy War in Cuba (Bay of Pigs) and the results that followed (Cuba's new ally).
The Bay of Pigs was an attempted invasion of Cuba by exiled Cuban rebels. They were backed by the US and trained by the CIA. They were disguised to look like they were using stolen Cuban planes and equipment, but Castro and the Cubans saw through this, knowing the US was involved. The invasion was unsuccessful and met with heavy Cuban resistance. This caused relations between the US and Cuba to sour. The Communist nation then align with the larger and more powerful communist country, the Soviet Union.
