Grade point average. Average of all grades earned in High school
What is GPA?
Most programs here take 4 years
What is a university?
Secondary field of study, which requires fewer courses and it is optional
What is a minor?
Document online students fill out to receive financial aid for college
What is FAFSA?
What type of degree can you obtain at a university?
What are a bachelors, masters, or doctorate?
Name two college entrance exams
What is the ACT, or SAT?
Offers instruction and training in a skill or trade (Ex: plumbing or cosmetology)
What is a technical/trade school?
Being approved/pending acceptance into a college
What is admission?
Money for school that does not need to be paid back
What is a scholarship or grant?
Something your professor will give you to explain assignments, expectations, grading systems, textbooks, and class policies
What is a syllabus?
A record of all your classes (AP, dual credit, & regular), grades, and your GPA/ranking. Transcripts must be ordered online! These are sent to colleges, military, scholarships, etc.
What is a transcript?
This is where you get an associate degree
What is a community college?
completion of all required classes at the college level.
What is a graduate?
School in the state in which you reside (Cost could be different)
What is "In-State?"
A teacher at a college
What is a professor?
A space provided for all applicants to provide additional information that would be helpful for the admission review committee.
What is a personal statement, or essay?
A position in which a recent high school grade receives on-the-job training and classroom instruction, sometimes with pay
What is an apprenticeship?
Cost of living on campus (dorm room plus food plan)
What is room & board
School outside the state in which you reside (cost will be different)
What is "Out of State?"
the school, college, or university that one once attended.
What is an alma mater?
A document provided by a core teacher highlighting a student's classroom participation, dedication to a particular field, and leadership capabilities.
What is a recommendation?
You attend here for additional education after a four-year college.
