A participant started pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Bio Tech in Fall of 2016. In 2018 the participant transferred to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with our approval and all credits transferred in the degree in Business. By the end of which semester is this individual expected to complete the Bachelor’s Degree Business.
Summer 2020 is technically the last semester in the 2020 academic year, so this person has through Summer to complete the degree. We will accept Spring 2020 as that is traditionally the last semester.

What is 2 years?
A participant has given us documentation from a qualifying source that they can only attend college part-time, no more than 8-10 credits per semester. We agree to sponsor them in an Associate’s Degree. What is the expected time frame that this person will complete the Associated Degree?
What is 2 years – If someone is attending college part time they are still expected to complete the degree within out time frames and should look for ways to be able to transfer eventually to full time of make up the additional credits in the mini semesters. The VRC can consider funding up to 2 additional semesters after 2 years but the expectation is still that the person completed the degree in 2 years and this must be discussed with them.

What is 2020, Specifically by the Summer of 2020?
An individual completed 80 Credits towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, prior to their current case which ACCES-VR. We have agreed to provide funding towards a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. 30 credits from the 80 the individual completed toward the degree in Dance will be accepted as transfer credits by the college toward the degree in accounting. How long does this individual have to complete the Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting without talking into account and additional semesters being approved?
What is 3 years – 30 credits is the equivalent of 1 year worth of full time credits at most colleges therefore when someone transfers in with 30 credits they have used 1 year of their time frame.

The additional amount of time a VRC can allow an individual to complete an AA degree.
What is 2 Semesters? – (1 year not acceptable) Once the allotted time is completed, we count semesters not years.
A participant is pursuing an Associate’s Degree and by Summer 2020 they completed 2 years. They are attending Fall 2020 and plan to attend Winter 2021 and Spring 2021. What is the final semester the VRC can approve without a Central Office waiver?

A participant is pursuing a 4-year degree and completed 4 academic years as of Spring 2020. Fall 2020 is the first additional semester the VRC has approved. The participant plans to a take off Spring 2021. Will Spring 2021 be counted as the 2nd additional semester?
NO! – Spring 2021 would not count as one additional semester because the person didn’t attend.
