What is Financial Aid?
This is similar to a driver's license or state identity card, and includes a photograph of the student, an individualized student number, and the name of the institution. Some have expiration dates or enrollment dates. It is required for admittance to college functions, exams, special discounts.

These are for undergraduate students with financial need. They do not accrue interest while students are in school at least half-time or during deferment periods.
What are subsidized loans?
The first number indicates the class year (freshman, etc), the middle two numbers in the subject field, and the last number is equal to the credit hours for that class.
What is the Course Number?
A student’s chosen field of study. It usually requires the successful completion of a specified number of credit hours.
What is a Major.
This describes a binding contract between the student and the institution. Students accepted into the institution must attend the school.
What is early decision?
This person is a peer leader who acts as a mentor to students and helps coordinate activities in dorms.
Who is a resident assistant (RA)?
This is money the government provides to students who need it to pay for college. This money does not need to be paid back. Eligible students receive a specified amount each year under this program.
What is a Pell Grant?
Students who earn GPA's above certain specified levels may earn a place on President, Dean or other lists. This is usually only open for full time enrollment students.
What is the Honor Roll?
All college courses are measured by this, and classes are offered in increments from one to five.
What are credit hours?
The permanent academic record of a student at a college, or university. It has all courses taken, grades received, academic status and honors received.
What is a transcript?
This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. Most students use this money as spending money.
What is Federal Work Study?
When any student has successfully completed a prescribed program of study earns this based institutional policies.
