Why do you think Achebe decides not to focus on the Economic prosperity the British gained from their colonization of Umoufia and other African nations/villages in his novel?
I think Achebe wrote this novel in order for the audience to perceive colonization from the eyes of the people being colonized; The focus on Europe's economic prosperity does not help in showing a first hand view - through the colonized - of how a village comes to colonization.
