The 6 steps of handwashing....
1. Moisten hands with warm running water;
2. Apply soap;
3. Rub hands vigorously until a soapy lather appears;
4. Continue washing for at least 20 seconds outside of the water, rubbing areas between fingers, around nail beds, under fingernails, under jewelry and the backs of hands;
5. Rinse hands under warm running water until they are free of soap and dirt; and,
6. Dry hands with a disposable towel.

a. Using the toilet or assisting a child with toileting;
b. Diapering each child;
c. Handling body fluids;
d. Handling animals or cleaning up animal waste;
e. Coming in from outdoors;
f. Cleaning or handling garbage; and,
g. At any other time that hands become soiled.
10 things In a first aid kit....
gauze pads,
rolled gauze,
adhesive tape,
cold pack,
plastic bags,
disposable gloves,
band-aids,
baby wipes and
hand sanitizer,
scissors,
shall be provided and kept in clean storage, conveniently located and available to staff for emergency use and inaccessible to children.
