A trial where the judge determines the outcome of the case

Stating that you did not do the crime.

A place where someone is held when convicted for less than a year.
What is jail?
The right for the defendant to choose a plea

The sheriff of the courtroom that is responsible for safety.
What is the bailiff?
A trial where the jury decides the outcome of the case
What is jury trial?
Telling the court that you will accept punishment for the crime (without admitting guilt)

A person is set free but must follow rules or conditions. If the rules are broken the person may be sent to prison.
What is probation?
The right for the defendant to receive a copy of the complaint or charges against them

The secretary of the judge that gives to oath to the witnesses
