The Holy: refers to us—the people! This does not mean we have to be absolutely perfect or sinless to take Communion, but it means we must be doing everything inside our power to fight sin and maintain a clean, holy life. We prepare ourselves regularly by going to confession, praying daily, reading our Bibles, fasting, and steering clear of sin at all costs.
