Roscurro, short for Chiaroscurro. Meaning the arrangement of light and dark, darkness and light together. He fell in the queens soup at the banquet, causing shock and death.

She saw her riding on her horse. The princess waved.
Mig realized there was a better life possible and she wanted to be a princess.

Why did he protect him?
Gregory the jailer. He wanted to hear Despereaux's stories because they brought light to his dark world.

He dreamt of a knight fighting the darkness. When he asked who he was, the knight took off his helmet and it was empty.

The soldiers came to her hut to take away the soup supplies and Uncle and the soldiers took her with them since she was a slave
How did the story end? How did the princess get out? What happened to Mig, Roscurro, the princess and Despereaux?
Despereaux came to the princess and threatened to kill Roscurro. The princess saved him and promised him soup in the banquet hall. Roscurro led them out and told Mig about her father, who loved her the rest of his days.
