The SCHS document all caregivers are required to read and follow, which outlines the expectation of integrity, ethics, confidentiality, and compliance.
What is the Code of Conduct?
The application/website used to properly check personal health information such as test results.
What is MyChart?
The hotline reporting system used to report concerns of unethical or illegal conduct.
What is EthicsPoint?
"This" occurs when a Caregiver's personal interest, financial or otherwise, could be reasonably viewed as actually or potentially affecting or influencing his or her objectivity, independence, or judgement in fulfilling his or her duties to St. Charles or an Affiliate.
What is a "Conflict of Interest"?
The frequency in which caregivers must complete Compliance & Privacy CBLs.
How often is annually?
"This" may be initiated against individuals who have failed to comply with St. Charles' Code of Conduct, compliance policies, federal or state laws or regulations.
What is "disciplinary action?"
The location you can find information on Compliance & Privacy, such as contact information, policies & procedures, & FAQs.
What is CaregiverNet? (Under compliance & privacy)
This law requires hospitals with emergency departments (EDs) & family birthing centers (FBCs) to provide medical screening examination to any individual who comes into the ED or FBC and requests such an examination and prohibits hospitals with these departments from refusing to examine or treat individuals with an emergency medical condition. (Abbreviation is an acceptable answer).
What is the Emergency Medical Treatment And Labor Act (EMTALA).
Meaning to only share the medical information of a patient required in order to perform job duties and/or provide the required patient care.
What is "minimum necessary?"

Caregivers who files a report with Compliance & Privacy in "good faith" is protected from this.
What is retaliation?
The action that should be taken if potentially confidential information is found lying on the floor out in the open for anyone to see.
