How should I enter the Computer Lab?
I will walk in quietly and go right to my seat.
What if I don't want to work on the website that the class is assigned?
I will do the assigned website, just like I would complete an assignment in any of my other classes.
How will I know when class is over?
The teacher will announce that class is over and turn on/off the lights or one of the other attention getters.
What should I do if I feel sick?
If I can make it to the restroom I should leave the room quickly, if not, I should grab the trash can.
Can I download new games on my computer?
No, you should not download anything to your computer! If your website requires an update, please check with Mrs. Flax before continuing.
Can I start working on whatever website I want as soon as I get to my seat?
No, I will wait for Mrs. Flax's instructions.
What is my CHAMPS Voice Level during Computer Class Time?
Level 1-2
Can I keep working or try to finish the level I am currently on?
No, we would all like more time to complete what we are working on but I need to leave as soon as class is over.
What should I do if there is a fire drill?
Exit the room quickly and quietly. Follow directions and get to safety.
Can I print my work?
Yes, you may print if Mrs. Flax gives you permission. Any pages printed must be for an assignment that requires a printed page.
What should I do if I need to go to the restroom or get a drink before I come in?
I should wait to see if the teacher has instructions for the whole class and then ask to go to the restroom or get a drink.
What if I have a question during instructional time?
I should wait to see if it is answered later, if not I can ask Mrs. Flax after she has completed the lesson.
Where should I line up?
I should quickly and quietly find my number on the floor and be ready to enter the hallway.
What should I do if there is a tornado drill?
Exit the room quickly and quietly. Follow directions and get to safety.
Do we ever get "Free Time"?
Yes, your class can earn "free time" through good behavior.
Should I ask Mrs. Flax what we are doing as I enter the room?
No, I should enter quietly and wait for her to give instructions to the entire class.
Can I talk or start working on my assignment during instructional time?
No, it would be rude if I was not fully listening to all of the instructions and I might miss an important part of the lesson.
What should I do before I line up?
Log out of my program, exit out, push in my stool, gather all of my things and find my number on the floor.
What should I do during any announcements?
I should quickly remove my headphones and listen carefully for any important information.
Why can't I play the computer games that I play at home?
Some games are better played at home. When we are in school we need to be using programs that help us learn and become smarter.
How will I know if I need to sit on the floor for instructions or go to my assigned seat?
Mrs. Flax will let us know as we enter the room. If I am not sure, I can watch to see what others are doing that entered the room before me.

If I am very close to finishing something, can I stay and work longer?
No, it is important that I get to my next class on time.
What should I do if my computer is not working properly?
Quietly ask my neighbor for help or raise my hand and wait for Mrs. Flax to come to help me.
Why do I have to learn how to keyboard?
It is an important skill that we all need to learn. It may seem difficult now but will get easier as we practice.
