Tell me about the story of the Prodigal Son.

He decides to return to his father who welcomes him with love, compassion, and forgiveness. The eldest son is mad because he doesn’t understand why the younger brother was received this way, to which his father responds in a way Jesus would by emphasizing forgiveness and compassion.

Why are anointing of the sick and reconciliation considered “Sacraments of Healing”?

Because they both represent ways in which Jesus healed and still can heal us. Through confession we get a spiritual healing in our spirit, and we heal, or restore, our relationship with him. Through the anointing, we can achieve both spiritual and in some cases immediate physical healing, which can help us recover from illness.
