Jason was running late to pick up his wife's birthday cake. When he got to the bakery and asked them for his order, he paid for it and left without checking to make sure it was all right. When he arrived home and pulled it out of the box to surprise his wife, he noticed the cake said, "Better luck next time, George." He was very annoyed with the bakery.

The turning point in the story where there is a notable shift.
What is the climax?
The life lesson you should learn.
What is the theme?
A clue or hint about something that is going to happen later in the story.
What is foreshadowing?
The boy scouts went on their annual trip into the mountains for their overnight stay. However, the boy scout leader hadn't checked the weather before heading up there. That night, the boys and their tents were covered in 12 inches of snow and covered the path back down the mountain. Will they make it out alive?

A person has a problem with rules, laws or traditions.
What is person vs. society?
Where additional problems arise and lead up to the climax.
What is the rising action?
The feeling you should get from the story.
What is mood?
An author uses an object to represent an idea.
What is symbolism?
Robbie had just gotten his driver's license and was so excited, he decided to go on a cross country road trip. Unfortunately, Robbie didn't check the speed limits as he was driving through the different states, and he ended up getting speeding tickets in seven different states. The police arrested him for all of his unpaid tickets.
