Why is it concerning to a BCBA if an RBT is spending 5 minutes writing session notes (consecutively), leaving the room constantly, talking to other staff members for long periods of time?

ABA is EXPENSIVE. Insurance looks for ANY reason to cut a kiddos hours. We want kiddos to be in and out of therapy to get to the LRE ASAP. Hopebridge is 1:1 we want out kiddos successful in more realistic environments. Also- your kiddo could be eloping out of the room on their way to chick-fil-a before you look up from writing your note.

Attention Seeking behaviors how can we prevent them from escalating?

Giving intermittent/continuous attention throughout the session. This looks like engaging in SR with them, while writing session note still interacting with them, praising them complying to regular daily activities. GIVE THEM the attention before they need to do PBx to get your attention.
