This type of motion is not open to debate and is not subject to amendment.

The maximum length of a Council meeting.

Official record of the meeting.
Minutes
An email from a resident would become this type of record, which is exempt from MFIPPA.
Constituency Record
This motion is used when Council wishes to break the normal rules or procedures.
Motion to suspend the rules of procedure
A query to whether correct procedure is being followed during a meeting.
Point of Order
A municipality must have these two officers.
Clerk and Treasurer
The failure to vote by a Member who is present at the meeting when a vote is called. The vote is counted as a negative.
Abstention from Voting
Councillors have the same access to records as these individuals.
General public
This motion is open to debate, shall be relevant, and shall not propose a direct negative to the main motion.
Motion to Amend
Council may enter this when personal matters about an identifiable individual are discussed.
Closed Meeting
A mandatory independent statutory officer, reports to council and is independently responsible for the application of the Code of Conduct.
Integrity Commissioner
When this is requested, each member of Council is asked to announce his or her vote aloud, which is recorded in the minutes by the Municipal Clerk.
Recorded Vote
A Councillor email from a resident becomes an official record when this happens.
Email is sent to staff
Council shall not debate any motion until it receives this.

This is generally available to the public by the Wednesday preceding Council and Committee of the Whole.
