Anxiety is when my brain and body start to worry about something, even if Iโ€™m not sure anything bad is going to happen. It can make me feel nervous, scared, shaky, or have lots of โ€˜what if?โ€™ thoughts. Sometimes my body feels like it is in danger even when Iโ€™m actually safe.

I would take a slow breath in and slowly blow it out. Then I would put my feet flat on the floor and quietly tell myself, โ€˜I am safe. This feeling will pass. I can handle it.โ€™ I would focus on something I can see and keep taking slow breaths until I feel calmer.โ€

First, I would make a list of the 5 things I need to do. Then I would pick the most important one and do that first. Iโ€™d break the bigger jobs into smaller steps and take a short break when I need one. I can remind myself, โ€˜One thing at a time!
