Area = 24 sq. units
Find the area:
27 cm2
Find the area. (NOT drawn to scale)
50 cm2
Make 2 possible rectangles with an area of 12 square meters. What are their dimensions?
90 ft2
Find the area.
Area=78.5 cm2
Find the area:
93 ft2
One rectangle has a width of 8 feet and an area of 48 square feet. Another rectangle has a length of 2 feet and an area of 48 square feet. Which rectangle has the GREATEST perimeter? HINT: DRAW THE RECTANGLES ON PAPER
The second rectangle has a perimeter of 52 (the first has a perimeter of 28)
Why do we divide by 2 when we are finding area of a triangle?
Because a triangle is HALF of a parallelogram so the area is HALF the area of a parallelogram (base times height).
Find the area:
Area of triangle= 3 x 6 ÷ 2= 9cm2
Area of rectangle = 5 x 6 = 30 cm2
Together: 30 + 9 = 39cm2
The area of a rectangle is 64 cm2. One of the sides is 4 cm. What is the perimeter?
40 cm
Find the perimeter of this shape.
(Hint: Circumference = pi x diameter.... the dotted line goes right through the center of the circle)
Perimeter of the half circle: (25 x pi) ÷ 2
25 x 3.14 = 78.5 ÷ 2 = 39.25
Add the rest:
39.25 + 20 + 20 + 25 = 104.25 cm
