Reactive: Focuses on maximizing safety-remove other clients, get person in distress away from environment/triggers to process, food, medical care etc.
What are some keys to listening with empathy?
Remain non-judgmental, give your undivided attention, allow silence and reflection time, paraphrase what you understand, open ended questions, etc.
