Listen to see if their heart is beating

Call 911, and have the person rest in a comfortable position.
What are signs and symptoms of choking?
Panicked facial expressions, both hands placed on the throat, the person may cough or may not be able to.
Good Samaritan Laws
They protect responders who act the way a responsible person would act. They protect the helper from financial liability, and they encourage people to help others in emergency situations.
How do you obtain consent to help? (The steps)
- State your name
- State the type and level of training that you have
- Explain what you think is wrong
- Explain what you plan to do
- Ask if you may help
