What is the policy on Tardies?
Each one is documented. After fourth one, a phone call to parent / guardian must occur to inform of the tardy. After 5turned in to the Sector principal for review and counseling and punishment if needed.

What club is associated with Criminal Justice courses at this High School?
SkillsUSA. SKillsUSA is the CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) associated with these classes.
Why can't I have my cell phone out? It's my mother!
School Board Policy as well as the School (CCHS) Principal's policy to not allow cell phones out in class except while being used for class assignments allowed by teacher.
How many tardies will result in a call home?
3rd or less will result in a call to parent or guardian.
After an arrest is an officer done with dealing with a suspect completely?
Absolutely not! The officer must present their investigation notes and information to the DA to begin the court phase of the process. The officer will end up at the trial to prosecute the suspect based on all the information that led up to the arrest.
Do I have to go to college to begin a career or job within the Criminal Justice System?
No! You do not have to have a college degree to work at some jobs within the criminal justice field. However, there are certain jobs within the field that requires certain degrees to qualify you to do this work.
What does the Criminal justice club do or mean?
SkillsUSA is a Career Technical Student Organization which is in place to better prepare you for the career of your choosing. With lessons, activities and competitions, the club can enhance your skill set to prepare you to be more job ready upon completion of these courses.
What type of behavior in class may result in punishment or injuries?
Horseplay. This is considered a lab and safety protocols are in place to protect all students. Horseplay and not following rules and policies can and may result in injuries.
What action happens after the 4th tardy?
Form is sent to principal and from that point the principal will deal with the issue and or issue punishment.
How do I get a warrant to arrest someone and why would I have to obtain a warrant?
The District Attorney (which prosecutes arrestees) can assist with obtaining a warrant or a judge can send a warrant down. In some instances there can be an arrest made without a warrant (warrantless arrest) based on certain circumstances and criteria.
Will there be jobs available in this field upon my graduating from high school?
Absolutely. Currently an increase of up to 10% is projected for the next 8 years within the criminal justice field.
What kind of fees are associated with belonging to SkillsUSA?
To join SkillsUSA costs less than 20.00 per year. This fee gives you access to great career information and training materials as well as qualifies you to compete in competitions against other students from other schools. Some competitions go all the way to the national level.
When someone is talking to the class including instructor, who else may be talking?
No-one is supposed or allowed to be talking when someone else is addressing the room.
What would constitute a tardy?
Not being in your seat when the tardy bell rings.
Can a corrections officer charge an inmate with a crime if they are in jail already serving a sentence?
Absolutely. Even incarcerated and adjudicated inmates can still commit further crimes from within the confines of a jail or prison.
What are some of the jobs within criminal justice field that may require some form of college degree?

How often will the club meet and what will be my responsibility after joining this organization?
Typically we meet less than once a month but would like to increase that to gain the full benefit of the organization for our students.
If I have a question how may I ask it to the instructor or speaker?
Raise hand and wait to be recognized.
What if I just don't finish the assignment or work assigned to me within the allotted time frame?
Late work will be accepted up to a certain point. There will be deductions for all late work. I will allow plenty of time to complete the assignments for everyone.
When some one gets sentenced, do they serve the complete sentence handed down by the judge?
Depends on the sentence. Some sentences are within a range like 5-10 years. This means with good behavior they may get out earlier than the full 10 years. Others may serve a percentage of their sentence and then qualify for early parole.
How much money can I earn within the criminal justice system as a career?
Depending on the job itself, one can expect to make from 40s to well over 250000 a year.

Who will run these meetings and organize the events?
The CTSO SkillsUSA is a student led organization which means YOU will run the meetings and organize events. There will be elections held for different positions within the club and representatives from our program mixing with other classes that have SkillsUSA as their CTSO.
