When Daniel first applied for the job of Employment Trainer, he used his full name Jose Daniel Rito.
When he came in for his interview I called him Jose, thinking that as it was his first name, that is what he would go by. But, since I know nothing of Mexican customs, I didn't know that was rather foolish. Daniel was very gracious about it! He explained that in Mexico, when you call 'Jose, come here!" at least 10 boys will come running, because they are all called Jose + another middle name, which is the name they actually go by.
This was only the first of many times that Daniel has taught me something

Also I’d want to tell him that he’s been such a force for positive productivity on our team and I’m really sad to see him go. He is always so welcoming and inclusive of new members to the team, and I always appreciated it.

we always joked about our budgets and how end of year always gets us scrambling. Recently, I asked Daniel for ideas on things to expend on and he thought for a min and then said “our house needs new shingles” I passed out laughing!

Daniel and I taught a program together when he first started and we had to deal with an overly motivated and intense student. I was always frazzled and Daniel was always modelling and reminding how dramatic I was with it. We had many good laughs over this.
