1/12
Decompose 7/8 using two composite fractions.
3/8 + 4/8 =7/8
or

Decompose 5/6 into it's unit fractions using an equation.
1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 = 5/6
decompose 7/9 using one unit fraction and 2 composite fractions.
1/9 + 3/9+ 3/9 = 7/9
or
1/9 + 2/9 + 4/9= 7/9
Decompose 1 2/4 into unit fractions using a number sentence.
1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 +1/4 + 1/4= 6/4
Denominator (what is it and what does it tell us ?)
The bottom number in a fraction. It tells us how many equal sized pieces are in the whole.
If you decompose 5/7 into unit fractions there will be 6 unit fractions in my number sentence. True or False?
False
3/12 + 4/12 + 3/12 = 10/12
4/12 + 4/12 + 2/12 = 10/12
5/12 + 2/12 + 3/12 = 10/12
6/12 + 2/12 + 2/12 = 10/12
Decompose 1 4/5 into 3 composite fractions using a number sentence.
2/5+2/5+5/5 = 9/5
2/5+3/5+4/5= 9/5
3/5+3/5+3/5= 9/5
Numerator (what is it and What does the numerator tell us?)
The top number of the fraction. It tells us how many pieces of our whole to look at.
