The decrease in forest areas across the world that are lost for other uses such as agricultural croplands, urbanization, or mining activities.

Areas with similar plant and animal communities.
A variable that shows how steep the landform is.

A network or graph in geographic space, describing an infrastructure that permits and constraints movement.

The sum of all changes in forest area over a specific period of time.

The type of life zones can effect whether the forest clearing rates are high or low. If the life zone is desirable to humans, the forest clearing rate would be higher.

The higher the slope percentages, the lower the forest clearing rates. This is because the steeper the slope is, the more inacessible it is to people.
Relationship between transportation networks and forest clearing rates (and why)
Expansion of transportation networks will increase the accessibility of the forests there, making it easier to clear land and increase forest clearing rates.
