The specification point that describes the exact measurements (height, width, depth).
What are Dimensions/Size?
The activity of drawing quick ideas on paper to get thoughts out of your head.
What is Sketching?
The method used to join two pieces of fabric together.
What is a Seam?
In this specific type of appliqué, fabric shapes are placed and sewn on top of the background fabric.
What is Traditional Appliqué?
The broad "Topic" or "Style" set in the brief (e.g., "Under the Sea" or "Christmas").
What is Theme?
The specification point that describes how safe the product is to use.
What is Safety?
The general name for the activity of joining or attaching materials using a needle and thread.
What is Sewing?
The method used to tidy the edge of a piece of fabric so it does not fray.
What is a Hem?
In this specific type of appliqué, the colored fabric is placed underneath, and the top layer is cut away to reveal the shape.
What is Reverse Appliqué?
To manufacture a well made drawstring bag with decorative detail on the front.
What is our design brief?
Use Calico fabric.
300mm x 250mm size of fabric.
Include hems, seams and an open channel for a drawstring to fit through.
Include decorative detail on front of bag using the technique of applique.

The final stage where you look back at the finished product to see what went well.
