When a student comes to the desk & say they have a package to pick up...(WWYD)?
Check the student ID, Log it into the desk log (Packages Tab), & give them the package.

A resident says they are locked out of their room...WWYD?
Call a RA (the one with the least calls yet) to have them do a lock out. It should be logged in the Desk Log in the appropriate column.

You hear on the weather radio that there is a tornado warning. WWYD?
Push the tornado warning button. Put up the Tornado Warning posters. Close the desk completely. Take the walkie talkie, fire bag, emergency info binder. Go to the basement to seek shelter until further notice.

The desk log is frozen, WWYD?
Handle the issue as best as possible. That may mean taking a paper note about it and later updating the log. Saving as much as possible is critical.

If an alumna of a sorority comes to the desk asking for someone to show her the chapter suite, WWYD?
Let them know that we can't get them up into the suite but will be happy to call a staff member to escort them up to see the suite door. They can knock on the door and see if a chapter member is there or not but must be escorted for safety reasons.

A grandparent/boyfriend/etc. asks you to take a package to hold or put in a mailbox for a resident...WWYD?
Politely say you can't accept any packages that are not given USPS/UPS/FedEx delivered for security reasons.

A resident says they have lost their key. WWYD?
Call a RA (with the least amount of calls) and have them get the resident a loaner key. Notify the resident of the $45 recore charge. Log it into the desk log. Email Audra stating a recore is needed making sure to include the student's information.

The fire alarm is going off. WWYD?
Close the desk immediately. Take a walkie talkie, the fire bag and the emergency contacts binder. Go to the fire meeting place (in the Deho Beach). Hand out clipboards to RAs.

Where are financial aid checks or other valuable things kept?
In the black, metal valuables box in the cabinet to the right of the desk.

A student comes to the desk saying they have a meeting with Patty/Audra/Kayla. WWYD?
Tell the student that you will notify the director and that they can wait in the mailbox lounge for the director to come get her.

A student says they are supposed to pick up a package as they got an email notifying it was there for them but you cannot find it...(WWYD)?
Politely say you cannot find it but you will follow up with your supervisor about it. Take down their name, email, and what kind of package they are anticipating.

A resident says they are needing to pick up a key. WWYD?
Ask the resident for more info. If it is from them checking into a new room, check to see if there is a check-in packet waiting for them. If there is, explain the information in the check-in packet (making sure to follow the check-in process listed). If there is not a check-in packet, email Kayla.

You hear on the walkie talkie/via telephone/text message to "Secure in place/armed assailant". WWYD?
Put up the Secure in Place posters. Close the desk completely including turn off lights. Find shelter (where you can't be seen) immediately until further notice.

A vacuum is broken. WWYD?
Put a sign on the vacuum stating it is broken. Try to figure out from the resident how it is broken (not sucking things up, nasty smell, bag full, etc.) Email Audra about it stating the broken issue.

A parent/boyfriend calls/is there wanting to know where Sally Sue lives. WWYD?
Politely say "I am sorry for security reasons I cannot give out that information." You can always direct them to talk to Kayla if they would like further assistance with matter.

Flowers/a perishable item is delivered to the desk for a resident by a flower company. WWYD?
Notify the resident about the special delivery via email making it clear it is an urgent pick up.

Our maintenance guy drops off keys for a room which has been recored. WWYD?
Call a RA. (they will put the keys into the key box.) When the resident comes to pick up their new keys, call a RA. Take the resident's old keys and put it in the manilla envelope within the "Keys" box at the desk. RA gives them their new key.

A dining staff member comes to you saying a flood is going on in dining. WWYD?
Call a RA giving as much details as possible. They will call for further help.

You are out of quarters. WWYD?
Put a sign out about it (either the out of quarters sign or write it on the dry erase stand). Email Audra & Kayla about it. Though you should have emailed us stating you are low on quarters (4 rolls or less).

Try to help them as best as possible. Notify a hall director if you need assistance. Send parents in particular to Kayla.

A package when delivered from USPS states there is postage due. WWYD?
Pay USPS the amount needed (take it out of the cash drawer), log it out of the appropriate column in the desk log, and notify the resident via email the amount of postage that is due. Fill out a Postage Due package slip and put it in the Refunds box. Log it as a package.

A student says they are returning their room key. WWYD?
Ask the student for more information as to why. If they are checking out of a room, see if there is a check-out packet there for them. If so, call a RA to complete their check-out process. Do not take their key or do any check-out paperwork.

The black fire system box is sounding saying "trouble". WWYD?
Call UPD to notify them of the alarm. Follow their instructions. If it is still sounding for over an hour, call UPD again.

Notify a Hall Director (phone call or email) that UPD is in the building.

You see Red Bull or the Village Promenade in the building (residential and/or dining) in the building passing out fliers. WWYD?
Notify a Hall Director (phone call or email) that they are present. They are not allowed to be soliciting in the building.
