During Art, a student cannot listen to directives given to them after being verbally redirected. What do you do?
Verbally redirect the student to pay attention. If the student does not comply. Verbally redirect them back to class. How long the student stays out of class is based on the classroom staff and Art teacher.

Students are talking during lunch. What do you do and not do?
Remind students that talking is not permitted in the cafeteria. Also remind them of the short time limit they have. This will assist you with lowering their voices.

Speak to the student privately and inquire about what's bothering them. If they do not want to talk to you, contact the Therapist.

Staff should be standing, abruptly approaching the students while firmly redirecting them to stop. The issue needs to be dealt with quick and staff presence should be felt in those situations.

They should be taken back to class until they are ready to return if they can return. You already gave the prompt, and they didn't listen.
Do not keep the student in the PE room if they are disrupting the lesson and flow of Coach K. Same applies for Art with Ms. Hale

During Brain Gym Chester is getting visibly and increasingly upset. What do you do and not do?
The student needs to immediately leave the room. Computers are expensive and all it takes is one swipe to destroy one of them.
Do not redirect students from a sitting position. Close proximity to difficult students is required in Brain Gym and other electives.
A group of students choose to sit next to each other during lunch. Every day they are joking and talking loudly in the cafeteria. What should you do and not do?
Separate those students on each side of the cafeteria and staff should be presented in the middle.
Do not fail to locate the source of the issue. If they can't be mature enough to handle friends sitting next to them, they lose the opportunity.
A student enters the classroom during arrival and makes threats about peers because of what happened on the bus. What should you do and not do?
Immediately call the Therapist and inform them. If staff is available remove them from the class away from stimuli.
Do not keep the student in the classroom. Do not ignore the students' problems while waiting for the Therapist. Allow them to vent or distract them from their negative thoughts.

A support staff can take those disruptive students out of the classroom and work with them on their present assignment in an independent study room or processing room. Teachers or any other staff in the class can and should hold it down until you return. Thats the job.
Do not let them stay in the class because they will eventually influence other to lose focus.
While outside during PE or body movement Japeto AWOLS. What do you do?
Contact Sailes and or Ms. Cooper and Hannah. Follow the student and attempt to encourage them to return to the group. if you are not the trigger, escort the student back to the classroom. If you seem to be the trigger, plan ignore and stay within sight and sound until help arrives.
What is the protocol once the students are finished eating their lunch?
Wipe their tables quietly.
Push in chairs quietly.
Line up quietly.
A student arrives in class, and you notice that he has contraband on his person. What do you do and not do?
Ask the student in private if they have contraband on them. If they do not tell the truth, contact the LBS and or the SBS and inform them of the incident.
Do not publically call the student out. Do not forcefully take the contraband out of the students pockets etc.

Return to class so you can walk another kid to their transportation vehicle.
