Alma the Younger went to Antionum to preach to the Zoramites when he heard that they were perverting the ways of the Lord.  One of the ways they were doing this was by building tall platforms inside their synagogues where one man at a time could pray.  Their prayers were all the same and thanked God that they were His chosen people, that they were so much better than their brethren, the Nephites, and that they would be the only ones saved  because they were so holy.
