This Guilford County high school has close ties with North Carolina A&T. In May of 1969, There was a Student Body Election that led to a protest that permeated NCAT's Campus. The protest was important to the students as they felt that their culture and leadership were being purposefully left out. The protest was met by the National Guard and Greensboro Police. Many were injured and student Willie Grimes was killed. There is a memorial commemorating this day at the Reflection Pool. This is where Scott Hall used to be (where the protests had happened).

He was serving as the Chairman of the BPP when he was tragically assassinated by the CIA and Chicago Police. HBO Max released a film Judas and the Black Messiah bringing awareness to his life and contributions.

This North Carolina A&T Dormitory is where the May 1969 protests occurred. It also housed the A&T Four their Freshman Year. This building was torn down in 2004 and the current Aggie Villages was built in its place.
