Expectations
Treat others with kindness, listen when others are speaking, treat others how you want to be treated. We show this to our classmates, staff, guests, visitors, elders, etc.

Come into class quietly and on time, grab materials that you need, sit in your assigned seat, sit and wait for directions/instructions.
How do we come into class? What do we do when we enter the classroom?
The teacher tells us to pack up our notebooks/folders and hand them in to their basket/spot. We only leave them on her desk when we are told to.
How do we hand work/materials in? Where do we put our work/folders?
Treat everyone with kindness. (Staff, classmates, yourself) Listen when being spoken to.
RESPECT
What is being respectful?
Always give your best effort into your work and assignments, ask for help when you need it, take pride in your learning.
What is effort?
What I need to do when I ask to leave the room. I ask after instructions and after doing some work. I will be told "No" if you ask first thing when coming into class.
What is being excused? How/When do I ask to be excused? What is permission?
Bring all the materials that you need, complete assignments in class, be ready to learn and do work.
What is being prepared?
What do we need to bring to class?
Put away materials neatly and in their place, hand in work where it needs to go, line up quickly and quietly at the door, wait to be dismissed.
I wait until after instructions/directions are given. I ask to go after I have listened to instructions and have done some work.
What is bathroom breaks? When do we ask for a bathroom break?
Engage with the teacher in discussions, ask questions, contribute to the class in a positive way, use your class time wisely.
What is participation?
How do we show we are participating?
Sitting in my assigned seat, staying on task, asking for help when needed, not distracting others from doing their work.
How do we work independently?
I let my Teacher/the front office know when I will not be here. Parent/Guardian calls in to let the school know that I will not be in.
What do I do when I am going to be absent? Who do I let know?
Listen to and follow the teachers instructions the first time they are given. Eyes should be looking at the teacher, body should be facing forward, and head is up.
What is following instructions? What is following directions?
Come into class directly afterwards, do not go to the bathroom. Sit and wait quietly for directions.
