Who is Dora Marquez?
Dora Márquez is the main character and hostess of the Dora the Explorer and Dora and Friends: Into the City! television series. She is a heroic Latina girl who embarks on countless adventures in every episode in order to find something or help somebody in need.
Swiper is the antagonist (and sometimes the anti-hero) in the television series and the secondary antagonist of Dora and the Lost City of Gold and appears in almost every episode. He is a 10 (9 for the first 50 episodes) year old sneaky orange fox who loves to swipe anything. As his name implies, Swiper steals or attempts to steal key items that help Dora on her adventures. Clever as he is, Swiper never manages to take Dora completely by surprise; a whisking sound is (almost) always audible just prior to his appearances.
Benny (originally known as Benito in the 1998 pilot) is a main character on Dora the Explorer. He is a big, strong cow with a huge appetite and an even bigger heart. He often tries to help Dora on her adventures, but Benny is so accident-prone that it is usually him that is in need of Dora’s help. Benny lives in a large red barn with his grandmother. Dora often goes there to visit him. Benny is a skilled dancer and loves fiesta food, especially cake and ice cream. He is also Tico's best friend.
