What are scenes?
This is a list of all the characters in a play. They usually are listed according to appearance
What is a cast?
These are instructions for the actors, the director, and the stage crew and are normally written in italics
What are stage directions?
The background, time, and place of where the action of a story, play, movie, or show takes place. It's the where and when of a story.
What is the setting?
The VISUAL BACKGROUND on a stage that tells you where the action is taking place.
What is a set or scenery?
A fake beard, a wig, and clothes from another time and place are examples of this.
What are costume pieces?
It's WHO the story is about. It can be people or animals.
What are characters?
It's something that actors WEAR to LOOK LIKE their characters and to make themselves as more believable as those characters.
What is costume or make up?
A type of acting that is COMPLETELY SILENT. These kinds of actors use only nonverbal expression - body movements to communicate everything.
What is pantomime or mime?
It is the actor's ability to SPEAK OUT to the whole audience without having to shout.
What is projection?
This is the abbreviation of the word "property" and is any object that is used in a play to enhance the setting
What are props?
He or she is the author of a play
What is a playwright?
A type of dramatic work that is light and humorous and usually has a happy ending
What is a comedy?
The words or conversations spoken by characters to each other. Much of what you learn about the characters, setting, and events are revealed in this conversation.
What is dialogue?
This is a long uninterrupted speech that is spoken by a single character which reveals his/her thoughts and feelings
What is a monologue?
This is the written form of a play.
What is a script?
This is where the action of a play takes place. It usually has three walls and an invisible "fourth wall"
What is the stage?
This is the person who sets the scene for a play and comments on the action
Who is the narrator?
The drama element portrayed here: [Wyona is sitting on the couch. She sees Paul and jumps to her feet.] Wyona. [Angrily.] What do you want?

The technique for creating believable characters
What is characterization?
This is SOMETHING WE HEAR that is sometimes used in plays, movies, or shows TO CREATE A CERTAIN MOOD OR FEELING (such as suspense or fear).
What is sound or music?
Anything the actors touches or uses during a play.
What is a prop?
*Scenery/Set *Costumes/make-up *Props *Sound/Music These are all this type of drama ELEMENTS.
What are technical elements?
A form of drama that includes acting, music, singing, and dancing.
