What do I do if an announcement comes on the class intercom/ speaker?
Students must remain quiet or become quiet so that Ms. Valero and the rest of the class can hear the announcements.
What day and time am I available after-school for tutoring?
Thursday from 2:45-3:45
What is the percentage that will be deducted if you turn in your work late?
10% from your total score
What happens if I am tardy?
you will be marked tardy and parents will be notified by compton early college.
When can I use the restroom?
You must use it before coming into class unless your parent has contacted me of any medical issue
Can I use and have my cellphone on my table?
No, cellphones are not permitted in class unless Ms. Valero allows it. Cellphones must remain silent and in your backpack.
What type of writing will we do in this class?
script writing
What can you do to get credit for an assignment that is more than 2 days late?
you must see Ms. Valero during tutoring hours complete and submit the late work (this only gets you partial credit--one letter grade below)
Can I sharpen my pencil at any time?
You can only sharpen your pencil when Ms. Valero isn't teaching
Can I shout out an answer during class discussion?
No, you must raise your hand so that everyone's thoughts and opinions can be heard.
What should I have on my desk on a day when we are taking a quiz/ assessment?
If we are taking a digital quiz/assessment then only a computer and your notes are needed. If we are taking a paper quiz/assessment then only a pencil and notes are needed. Everything else should remain in your backpack

No, only water is permitted
Can we just walk out of the classroom at the end of the class period?
No, Ms. Valero dismisses you when everyone has sanitized their table, put their chair up, and everyone is standing behind their chair.
What materials will you need for this class?
Ipad, pens/pencils, highlighters, 3-ring binder, highlighters, 3-ring binder, dividers, college ruled line paper.
What happens if I plagiarize or cheat?
your grade will be reduced, repeat an assignment, no grade assigned.
When and where is classwork turned in?
It is turned in when completed or at the end of class and it must be turned into the blue "turn in" basket
What do I do during any drills?
You must remain calm, quiet, and wait for the teachers directions.

You should place late homework in the red basket
