 Some employers do not allow support workers to to provide this aspect of care to diabetic clients, clients with ingrown hair or skin irritations, clients who are combative, or clients who take medication for blood clotting, under any circumstances.

 These  are removed every 8 hours for 30 minutes, or as stated in your employer’s policy.

The client remains in bed when these are off, to prevent swelling of the legs

Infections or foot injuries are very serious for older adult clients and clients with circulatory disorders.
