Why is the ocean floor much younger than continental rock?
Because the ocean floor is recycled after millions of years, continental rock is not.
What is the difference between crystals that are large versus crystals that are tiny or nonexistent in rocks?
The longer it takes igneous rock to cool the larger the crystals within it, the faster it cools the crystals will be small or won't form at all.
