What is 5CTG?
A load that exceeds 75% of crane capacity or rigging device.
What is a Critical Lift?
Precipitation from rain or snowmelt that flows over the ground.
What is storm water runoff?
You find a hazardous condition in an area that could potentially cause harm to you or someone else in the area. You remove the hazard or assign an action for someone who can.
What is an HOC (Hazard Observation)?
Specialized clothing or equipment worn in various settings to protect against hazards that can cause injuries or illnesses.
What is PPE?
A voluntary partnership between OSHA and HDBS designed to improve our safety and health performance.
What is VPP?
Are to be removed from hoist hook when lift is completed.
What is a Lifting Device(sling, claw, strap, etc)?
Must be provided for liquid waste containers that store 55 gallons or greater.
What is secondary containment?
Someone is acting in an unsafe manner that could potentially cause harm to themselves or others. You stop the person and have a conversation about the situation and correct the behavior.
What is a BBP (Behavior Observation)?
Must be done while standing still and in a hazard-free environment.
What is Safe Cellphone Usage?
An elected Safety Captain who serves as a representative for all BITS Team Captains and a
liaison to Safety TRT.
What is a Safety Chair?
This Matrix represents severity and probability of each task/process.
What is JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS (RPC)?
Must be conducted routinely on all equipment, machinery and vehicles to prevent unnecessary leaks
What is preventative maintenance (PM)?
When an employee stops working because they were notified of a possible hazard in their area.
What is SWA (Stop Work Authority)?
Abiding by the speed limit, staying on crosswalks, and properly maintaining vehicles to prevent fluid leaks.

You can notify your employer or OSHA about workplace hazards and request an inspection of your workplace. Having access to OSHA Citations issued to your employer. Having access to copies of your medical records. Knowing about hazardous materials in your area and how to protect yourself around them. Having a safe and healthy workplace.
