How are LAL learners different from EAL learners?
They have either interrupted schooling (large gaps) or no schooling at all. They need to learn how "school works", basic literacy, foundational academics, and the language of instruction all at the same time.

THey may never have had the opportunity to hold a pencil/pen and write, and their muscles are "in training".
