Explain the 7 states of awareness (give a description of each)

(example answer)

The 7 states of awareness are deep sleep, light sleep, drowsy, quiet alert, active alert, fussy, and crying. Deep sleep means the infants sleep can not be interrupted/ won’t be bothered by anything. Light sleep is when an infant is restless/moving while sleeping, the child can’t seem to get “comfortable”. Drowsy is when the infant is between the sleep stage and the alert stage. This can also be referenced as the “head bobbing” stage. Quiet alert is when the infant is calm and is most easily taught objectives during this stage. Active alert can be explained as the child having high energy and full of adrenaline, it is hard for the child to exit this stage.  Fussy is the stage of overstimulated in many different ways, hungry, sleepy, cold, overwhelmed, etc. Lastly, crying is the stage of true distress. The baby expresses that he/she needs help to become calm again.

What is the importance of Motor Developmental Milestones (Help Me Grow MN)?

The importance of this website is that it shows caregivers if their child is on track for motor development skills. It provides readers with at least 3 milestones for each month beginning with Newborn until the age of 5 years. If a child is not completing the appropriate milestones within a safe amount of time, resources are given so caregivers can get in contact with professionals if they are worried about the child’s motor skills.

What attachment style do you think you are and why? (No correct answer)

Example:

I have a secure attachment style. I believe this because I have such a strong relationship with my parents that even if they are not around I know that they will always have my back. No matter where I am, how old I am, or who I am with, my parents will always make sure that I am doing good/getting by.
