For individuals with eating disorders, the resting heartrate may be below 60 beats per minute but will become elevated even with only minimal activity (such as standing up from the exam table during vitals)
How are tachycardia and orthostatic hypotension related?
Orthostatic hypotension is when your blood pressure drops during positional changes, such as standing up from lying down. To compensate for this drop in blood pressure, the heartrate will increase to pump blood faster.
