You're not blaming others, but instead taking ownership for the situation. Also rather than staying in the negative moment, you take it as a learning opportunity to make your next scenario better. You ask yourself "what more can I do to get results?"
What is the Accountability Ladder?
Where your mind is at based on your location. Being fully present with the people and activities around you.
Your current state of mind, which contributes to your effectiveness and your quality of life . Your thinking drives behavior.
What is The Mood Elevator?
What is Appreciation?
There is no I in this concept. Our organization requires a collaborative culture to achieve our goals. It is one of our five Core Values. This is more than the sum of its parts; it optimizes the collective strengths of each of its members.
What is Team?
A good version of this means that you are not only hearing the words, but you also understand how the speaker feels about what they are saying. This is one of the most valuable skills we have to create a healthier culture, maximize interactions, be a better teammate and get better results.
What is Listening?
Thriving in today’s world requires a culture that doesn’t wait for change, but rather one that seeks it out and encourages innovation. To enable change: move from Observer/Critic/Judge to Participant/Supporter/Coach.
What is Stay Curious?
We spend 80% of our time working on things that get us 20% of our results; and the other 20% of our time gets us 80% of our results. The first rule of effective time management is to spend your time on the right things.
What are Blue Chips?
Being aware of how the things you say and do influences others. It is true for all of us that implied in the actions and words we choose every day is information about what we expect from those we work with. We can encourage behaviors we want to see by modeling those behaviors, and we discourage undesirable words and actions by avoiding those words and actions ourselves.
What is Shadow?
Each of us experiences the world differently. It’s impossible to be aware of everything that is happening at any one time. Because of that, we practice "selective perception". Once we are in selective perception mode, we tend to assume that what we see is the whole picture. We think that what we see is the same as what others see (or should see) as well. The challenge is that once we see something in a certain way, it’s very difficult to see another point of view. We can develop blind spots: an inability to see an issue from any perspective but our own.
What is Filters?
Giving people the benefit of the doubt will build better relationships, reinforce curiosity, keep you higher in the mood elevator and help you maintain a healthy perspective. In short, it can contribute to your quality of life and enhance collaboration between teammates. It is a first step toward building trust which often leads to better results.
What is Assume Positive Intentions?
We often assume that others see things the same way we do, and under normal circumstances, act and think as we would. Therefore, when people do not behave in a way that seems normal to us, we think something is wrong with them. Each of us has our own set of experiences, values, beliefs, thought habits and interests that shape our worldview and create our own unique thinking style. Understanding this also helps us recognize our personal strengths and challenges, helps us better communicate with others in different styles, and increases respect for the variety of ways in which all styles contribute to organizational effectiveness. The four quadrants to this topic are: Controlling, Analyzing, Promoting, and Supporting.
What is Behavioral Styles?
Things that we have no control over. This can be positive, but when it is negative, we often waste our energy dwelling on it. Keeping this in mind can help us remember to accept things and move on.
What is Gravity?
This concept is about becoming more aware of our blind spots. Every person sees the world differently because the way we view things is determined by our own thinking at any given moment. Our own thinking is impacted by filters and selective perception which leads to blind spots. In other words, we may miss some of the factors we should consider in order to make the best possible decision or do our best work.
What is Missing F's?
People want to know they are making a difference, and that it is recognized. Three types of this concept are Appreciative, Constructive, and Developmental. A statement using this could start with "I feel...".
What is The Power of Feedback?
This is even more important than managing time. We each need to find ways to better create and direct positive energy in ourselves and those we influence. A tool we have to help with this is the Mood Elevator.
What is Managing My Energy?
This means getting better results with less stress and effort. Worried thoughts create worried feelings. Grateful thoughts create grateful feelings. Our thinking creates our perception of reality.
What is At Your Best?
Every situation we experience creates a thought – what it means, what are the implications, and we ask ourselves “What should I do?” In other words, we make something of each experience with our thinking. The nature and quality of our own thinking will determine the effectiveness of the actions that we take. With wisdom, common sense and insight, it’s easier to see the value in making decisions for the greater good. It’s also easier to collaborate, to see the good in others, strengthen relationships, and build innovative solutions.
What is Role Of Thought?
This is the synergy created between individuals or a team when decisions are made to go forward together in support of a goal or common purpose. This concept is asking “what more can I/we do to fully execute and achieve the results!”
What is Alignment?
The benefits of this concept, based on the belief that through curiosity, learning and discipline, we can increase performance, ability and even intelligence. The results of this is you achieve better results, are open to new possibilities, and consistently work at your best. You accept challenges, embrace learning, appreciate feedback, persist despite obstacles, and are inspired by others' success.
What is Growth Mindset?
