With his 1st cat Pluto, the drunk narrator stabbed its eye out then later hanged it in the garden. He then found a new cat (unnamed) that had white fur around its neck and was already missing an eye. He tried to kill this new cat, but ended up killing his wife by accident instead and buried her body in the wall. When the cops came, the cat purred from inside and the narrator's crime was realized.
