Pandas are wild animals that require vast amounts of bamboo—up to 40 pounds a day—and specialized habitats to stay healthy. They are strong and unpredictable, making them dangerous to keep in a home. Moreover, pandas are endangered, and removing them from the wild for personal ownership harms conservation efforts. Us humans need to respect that, and not own one. Instead of attempting to own a panda, people should support panda conservation programs and visit them in sanctuaries. For these reasons, giant pandas should never be kept as pets.
