One of the coping skills we have discussed is Deep Breathing.  Show us the correct way to use Deep Breathing (Bonus Points if you can explain how Deep Breathing helps you when you are really angry/upset).

One of the coping skills we learned about what visual imagery.  Sometimes when we are sad or mad, it helps to close our eyes and imagine a place (that we've been to or would like to go to) or a memory that makes us happy or relaxed.  Close your eyes and describe what you see.  Give us details about what you see, what you and others are doing, the sounds you hear, what you smell, etc.

This year we played Bounce Back.  In the game we solved problems and crises by making good choices and using coping skills to bring our stress meter down.  What is stress?  What causes stress?  Finally, how can we reduce/relieve stress?

Stress is a feeling you get when your are worried, uncomfortable, or overwhelmed.  Many things can cause stress like working too much, having too much to do, a crisis, tests, and uncomfortable social situations such as being bullied.  We can relieve stress by talking about it, finding solutions to problems, and by using coping skills.
